Hihi, pudding cups~
I was pretty happy with everything I got done today. I got most of my reading done for Uni this week and rearranged the colour order of my dreads. After that, I put on my pretty girl disguise and my boyfriend picked me up to take me to Nandos for dinner.
The night before, we made the impulsive decision to go out to Nandos and then meet up with a few friends for drinks. Why is that such an impulsive decision, though? Well, we both had classes to get to, starting at 9:30 the next day and limited funds to actually pay for these things. However, we're usually pretty responsible people, so we figured one night of self indulgence wouldn't kill us; as long as we didn't get up to anything too crazy.
We went to Nandos and I decided to pay; my partner used to always pay for my food up until last November, when I got a job, so now and then I like to pay for the both of us. We both got a quarter of a chicken each and a big bowl of chips to share. Nandos have the best chips, oh my god. The chicken was perfect, I was so distracted with eating it that only midway did I remember to take a photo. I love doing couple-ish things like going out to dinner, it reminds me to appreciate the little things.
After our yummy dinner, we picked up Cassidy and our friend Connor and went to the bar. I was really happy to see some familiar faces there, a friend who last I heard had moved to Melbourne and a friend who I had met and spoken to online but never actually seen in person before. We sat down on the couches that my partner had reserved and Connor bought me a cocktail. It was called a Fruit Tingle and it actually tasted like one! It was really cool, too because it changed colours from blue, to purple, to red.
After a few drinks, the band had shown up to play some music for the bar and everyone was chatting and having a good time. The bartender even made everyone in the bar a round of free shots which tasted like red velvet cake. When the vibe began to die down a bit, the manager gave us a $50 voucher for the bar because of how many people we reserved the space for. This picked the mood right back up because we didn't have to worry about how pricey the drinks were anymore.
I got my first ever Long Island Iced Tea and Connor and Jacob entered the pool tournament. While they were playing their game, me and Cass had girl talks and caught up a bit. Turns out, she's started to take an online course to get her career as a teachers assistant kicked off; I'm really proud of her for that, she's finally getting her life together.
Connor and Jacob both made it to the finals but didn't end up winning. That was okay though, everyone had fun and after another round, we decided it was time to head home. All in all, the night super fun and I'm glad we decided to go through with it, even if I did feel like death the next morning.
