Review || What's in my Bathroom?

'Kitty, why do you take so god damn long in the bathroom?'

I've learned a lot this year, some things more important than others. I learned how to change a tyre, I also learned that those clear, squishy jellyfish you see in the shallows actually eat stuff. But one of the most relevant and life changing things I have come to learn is that the more time I spend in the bathroom, the more happy and relaxed I am when I come out. Sometimes life goes by so fast that we forget to stop and make sure to take care of ourselves. So I know it's a bit of a weird post, but today I'm going to share with you puddings some of my bathroom essentials that I wish I started using sooner.

Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Foam (Etude House)
A bit of an elaborate name, but I've been using this face wash for the last 3 years and it has become a must have for me. Etude house has always done right by me regarding their makeup products, and their skin care products have not been any different. I use this face-wash once in the morning when I wake up, and once again at night if I have been wearing makeup during the day. Baking powder is an absolute babe when it comes to removing yucky stuff you don't want such as stains on your clothes and colour from your hair, so it's no surprise that it's the key ingredient in my favourite face wash. One tube of this stuff lasts me just under a year, as you only need the tiniest bit of cream. Mix it with a bit of water in your hands, and you have a fluffy paste ready to cover your entire face, and then some. My skin always feels so much cleaner after using this, and it works as a great makeup remover for when you're in a pinch as well. If you want to step up your morning routine of splashing a bit of water on your face, this is the face-wash for you.

Snow Fairy Shower Gel (LUSH)
Feel like your shower time is a little boring? Don't feel pampered and pretty enough after a wash? I present to you, my friends, scented shower gels! I cannot describe to you puddings how good it feels when you wash the sweat off yourself from a hard gym sesh and smell nothing but cotton candy. I highly recommend you pick up a shower gel from LUSH, as I've had such a good experience with them. Their shower gels are soft on the skin, last a reasonable amount of time, and smell absolutely amazing. My favourite scents are unfortunately both in their Christmas exclusive collection, Snow Fairy (the cotton candy scent I was raving about), and also Lord of Misrule (a more spicy scent). There are a lot of other year round scents to try out though, so I highly recommend you head over to your nearest bath store and find something to make your shower times something to feel good about.

D-fluff Shaving Cream (LUSH)
I'm going to be completely honest with you puddings, I never used to use shaving cream, and I know a lot of other girls who didn't and still do not as well. I used to use shampoo because it 'basically does the same job'. And this is true, there's no shame in being savvy with your use of bathroom lotions and doubling up. However, I highly recommend that when you're a little ahead in your finances and want to treat yourself, a scented and moisturising shaving cream is the way to go, and I cannot recommend D-fluff shaving cream enough. The first thing you will notice is that it smells amazing, but not overpowering. There's a vague scent of strawberries, and the cream is a beautiful shade of pastel pink. You only need to scoop out a bit of cream with your finger, and when used with water, I find this is enough to cover my whole leg - I get about 2-3 months use out of a small tub. What's great about this cream is not just that your razor will just glide over your legs as if they're already hairless, but it does a great job at moisturising your skin as you use it. When I come out of the shower all fresh and shaved, I smell great and feel great, too.

Let the Good Times Roll (LUSH)
One of the more new things I've tried this year is exfoliating on the regular. I used to have this weird face cream from etude house that would peel off the first layer of your skin, and then you had to exfoliate it off, but I was always too scared to buy a real exfoliating product because they seem so harsh on the skin. Fastforward to Christmas 2016, my mum got me a little tub of Let the Good Times Roll and I tell you puddings, it's a must have. It's super gentle on the skin, smells delicious, and after I'm done exfoliating, my skin feels so new and looks so much more fresh and shiny. On top of all that, I'm still on my first tub! A little goes a long way with this - we're coming up to Christmas in a few weeks, and I'm only about three quarters of the way through this tub. It's amazing and if you puddings choose anything from this little list, I recommend you go for this product.

I realise over half of the products on this list are from LUSH, but I promise you this post is not sponsored, I've just found that their stuff genuinely works, and they've become staples for me. However, if you're not into the idea of spending money to amp up your bathroom pampering experience, I have a couple of tips for you:

Get Your Own Towel - This is one of those things that I know a lot of people gloss over. It doesn't matter whose towel is whose, they've all been washed, you're pretty sure your sibling uses the blue one, not the red one, so you're fine. Wrong. Get yourself your own towel. I have two towels, just cheap blue ones, but they look nothing like our regular house towels. Everybody knows they're mine. I wash them myself, replace them myself, and use them myself. I don't know why, but it just adds a sense of luxury, even when you're in a shared bathroom, you just feel like the place is yours while you're in there alone. If you don't have the money, find a towel that you favour over the rest and claim it as your own. You'll be surprised how much better you feel.

Keep Deodorant in the Bathroom - This one is pretty basic, but it's another thing people just don't think about. A lot of people I know (including the old me) keep their deodorant in their bedroom so when they get changed, it's there. Fair enough, but when do you actually need your deodorant? When you're getting ready to go out? When you're putting on your pajamas after your shower? Both things that take place in the bathroom. Nobody likes the lingering feeling that they've forgotten part of their routine, especially me. I started keeping my deodorant in the bathroom because I was sick of going back and forth. Now that I keep all my bathroom supplies in one place, I feel fresher quicker, and I don't have to low key worry about sweating in my clothes or fresh pajamas while I'm doing other bathroom stuff.

I know this was a bit of a weird post, but I kind of just wanted to get it out there because I love adding a bit of personality and luxury to what are usually mundane daily routines. I hope some of you puddings found this helpful! Let me know if you try them out, and let me know if you have any tips for me!
