Notes || Closet Update

Hey there, pudding friends ^^

After the horror of not going shopping once last month, I'm very pleased to be able to bring you this months closet update. I've been super busy this month, trying to balance my Uni work and and my job, but I must have done well, because I still found the time to do a spot of shopping. I'll admit, I'd have liked to go a few more times, but I guess this months small amount of items will have to tide me over. Although I didn't buy much, the things I did buy, I really like; so without further delay, here is this months closet update~

Cat Shirt
I bought this shirt after my first day back at uni. It was a little pricey because we were in a more popular store, but when I saw the cute little face, I couldn't walk away from it. I got it in a medium size because I wanted it to be a bit loose on me.

Ramen Shirt
This is yet another item from Cheep. If you're a long-time pudding cup, you'll know that I absolutely adore that store. I wasn't sure about the style of the shirt, as it seemed a bit too long and tight in weird places, but the picture of the ramen won me over and I just had to get it. I'm glad I did, too; because paired with some tight black jeans and a long cardigan, this shirt makes quite the statement.

Princess Cardigan
Do you puddings remember the cardigan I included in January's closet update? Well, I totally found the Autumn version! It's the exact same thing, only without the holes and patterns. It's super snug and makes me feel like a princess. I'm so in love with these kinds of cardigans, I hope I find more.

♡ ♡ ♡ Bonus Round ♡ ♡

Chocolate Socks
I bought these adorable socks from a friend I met in my lolita community who'd just come back from Japan and was selling a few of her impulse buys. The second I saw the chocolate prints, I knew I had to have them. I payed her online and arranged to have my partner meet up with her, as I had Uni that day and he was in the same area as her. I'm so happy with these; they're so snug and cute.

Sailor Moon Blanket
I know this doesn't count as a piece of clothing, but I just had to share a beautiful impulse buy. I am now the proud owner of the same blanket as Usagi Tsukino! I'm so happy with it and it's so warm and cosy. I'd put it on my bed, but it doesn't really match the colour scheme of my room, so right now it's sitting in my closet all folded up and waiting. I'm planning on moving out of home this year, so hopefully I'll be able to put it to good use soon~

♡ ♡

So that was all the clothes I bought this month. I know this months update isn't that impressive, but I'm glad I did manage to score some really cute stuff. Hopefully next month I'll be able to handle my studies better and have time to go on a big shopping spree~

Maybe even two shopping sprees.
Or three, who knows?

Review || Kawaii Box

Hi there pudding cups ^^

I'm a little sad to be writing this post, as this marks the last month of my subscription to Kawaii Box. As you all probably know by now, Kawaii Box is Blippo's monthly subscription service that sends a box of kawaii goodies from Korea and Japan to your home every month. For Christmas back in 2014, I bought myself a three month subscription and on my doorstep this afternoon was my final one.

This months box came to me a bit later than usual: the 13th of March. It made me a little worried, as it usually arrives pretty early in the month, but I checked with a friend who is also subscribed and she said she hadn't received hers either, which was a relief because that just meant the shipping was just a little bit delayed and my box hadn't been lost in the mail.

I'm pretty happy with the contents of this months box. As usual, everything was in good condition and very kawaii. So without further delay, let's get into the goodies~

Items #1, #2 and #3: Candy Accessories ♡
The first things I saw when I opened this months box was a group of adorable accessories that look like candies! My favourite out of these is probably the bracelet because of all the pretty pastel colours, but the other two are nothing to sneeze at either. There's also a very cute hair clip with a colourful lollypop. You can't really tell in the photo, but it's covered in glitter and I can't wait to show it off to everyone, it makes me feel like a candy princess. The last item in this picture is a charm that I think is supposed to be some kind of chocolate - either way, it's kawaii as heck.

Items #4, #5 and #6: Pencil Case, Luggage Tag and Eraser ♡
When I saw the luggage tag in this months box, I was so excited. I don't know how many of you puddings are Kpop fans, but the tag looks just like the SHINee emblem! It's the same colour and everything. And then the ties on it are pastel pink. I'm so extremely happy with this and it has great timing too, as you puddings may be aware that my partner and I are flying overseas at the end of this year. This will be the perfect way to make sure my luggage is both safe and kawaii. The pencil case and eraser are super cute, too. I love the galaxy background on the pencil case and the cute shape of the eraser. Last months back to school box pretty much has me covered on the school supplies front, but you can bet they'll still be put to good use around the house.

Items #7, #8, #9 and #10: Mechanical Pencil, Stickers, Chopsticks and Candy
I have so much love for each and every item here. The mechanical pencil has an adorable bear on the trigger and a cute drawing on the base. It's very lightweight and a great addition to my pencil case. The stickers are breathtakingly lovely. They have a very nostalgic feel to them and I can't wait to stick them all over my Uni folders. The delicate details are so nice to look at. The chopsticks are so cute as well! They're standard size and have adorable little pandas printed on the tops. Like most things that come to me from Kawaii Box, I'm so eager to show these off.
The candy that I found in this months box had me really curious. Because it was all written in Japanese, I didn't know what it was, but I went ahead and opened it anyway. Turns out, it's a cute D.I.Y candy set! I followed the pictures on the back and within minutes, I had my own grape flavoured candy with pop rocks. The mixture is really thick and gooey and you're supposed to wrap it around the spoon and dip it in the popping candy. I'm not really a fan of grape, but it still tasted amazing. Definitely adding this to my next Blippo order.

Items #11 and #12: Raccoon and Kit Kat
I was so freaking excited when I saw that under all this months kawaii goodness, there was a green tea Kit Kat! I've always wanted to try one, I'm so happy that Blippo decided to gift me with the opportunity. Because I live in Australia, by the time it got here, it was a bit melted, but it was still good. The green tea taste isn't as intense as Blippo's green tea pocky, but it was nice. I hope I'll be able to encounter more novelty Kit Kats in the future.
The final item in this months box is a cute little keyring with a stuffed raccoon. I've named him Nook, as in Tom Nook. If you don't know why, I recommend you go play the worlds most addictive game (Animal Crossing) right now. The quality of this little guy is a bit dodgy, but I'm still happy with it because now I have my own little nookling.

♡ ♡

So that's it, that's the final edition of my Kawaii Box journey. I hope you puddings enjoyed experiencing all the happiness of Kawaii Box with me and I really do encourage you to subscribe yourselves, it's really great value and such a nice thing to look forward to every month.

I'm sorry this review was so short and the photos aren't that great, but as you may know if you puddings follow me on Instagram or Tumblr, Uni has been super hectic and I have so many blog posts sitting in my drafts waiting to be edited or completed. I'm trying very hard to keep up with both my school work, my job and my blogging, but it's very difficult. Hopefully I'll start to get a bit ahead in my assignments and then I'll be able to publish my posts on the same days I start them, but for now, there might be a little bit of delay.

Anyway, back to Kawaii Box. I have decided that I will be renewing my subscription for the next six months. Like I said, it's such a nice thing to look forward to and such good value for money. Not to mention, it gives me the chance to own some things that I usually wouldn't buy for myself, and to me, that's such a wonderful thing.

I won't be making any more reviews on Kawaii Box after this once, since my choice is made, but if you want to keep updated on the monthly goodies I'm receiving, follow my on Instagram, as that's where I'll be posting them from now on (I have to show them off somewhere, right?). For now, it's goodbye, but stay tuned as I'll be making a lot more reviews of more kawaii products in the very near future~

Until then, stay kawaii, my pudding cups! ♡

Diary || Self Indulgence

Hihi, pudding cups~

I was pretty happy with everything I got done today. I got most of my reading done for Uni this week and rearranged the colour order of my dreads. After that, I put on my pretty girl disguise and my boyfriend picked me up to take me to Nandos for dinner.

The night before, we made the impulsive decision to go out to Nandos and then meet up with a few friends for drinks. Why is that such an impulsive decision, though? Well, we both had classes to get to, starting at 9:30 the next day and limited funds to actually pay for these things. However, we're usually pretty responsible people, so we figured one night of self indulgence wouldn't kill us; as long as we didn't get up to anything too crazy.

We went to Nandos and I decided to pay; my partner used to always pay for my food up until last November, when I got a job, so now and then I like to pay for the both of us. We both got a quarter of a chicken each and a big bowl of chips to share. Nandos have the best chips, oh my god. The chicken was perfect, I was so distracted with eating it that only midway did I remember to take a photo. I love doing couple-ish things like going out to dinner, it reminds me to appreciate the little things.

After our yummy dinner, we picked up Cassidy and our friend Connor and went to the bar. I was really happy to see some familiar faces there, a friend who last I heard had moved to Melbourne and a friend who I had met and spoken to online but never actually seen in person before. We sat down on the couches that my partner had reserved and Connor bought me a cocktail. It was called a Fruit Tingle and it actually tasted like one! It was really cool, too because it changed colours from blue, to purple, to red.

After a few drinks, the band had shown up to play some music for the bar and everyone was chatting and having a good time. The bartender even made everyone in the bar a round of free shots which tasted like red velvet cake. When the vibe began to die down a bit, the manager gave us a $50 voucher for the bar because of how many people we reserved the space for. This picked the mood right back up because we didn't have to worry about how pricey the drinks were anymore.

I got my first ever Long Island Iced Tea and Connor and Jacob entered the pool tournament. While they were playing their game, me and Cass had girl talks and caught up a bit. Turns out, she's started to take an online course to get her career as a teachers assistant kicked off; I'm really proud of her for that, she's finally getting her life together.

Connor and Jacob both made it to the finals but didn't end up winning. That was okay though, everyone had fun and after another round, we decided it was time to head home. All in all, the night super fun and I'm glad we decided to go through with it, even if I did feel like death the next morning.

Diary || Back To School

Hey there, pudding friends ^^

This morning I bought 8 hashbrowns from Hungry Jacks for breakfast. It was quarter past eight in the morning and I was so tired. I had been up for over an hour and rushed around to get ready for my first day back at University. I've been on break for four months, so it's safe to say I've fallen way out of routine.

(bad placement of sticker makes my nose look huge - good one kitty)

It was an hours drive with my friend Shade, and not a very pretty one. Australia is so ugly; traveling anywhere is never very scenic and a tad depressing. Eventually the dead looking wildlife began to turn a bit more green, which means a garden that was actually being cared for was close by. We arrived at the campus with 15 minutes to find where we needed to go. Managing to get our bearings rather quickly, we went our separate ways.

As I walked down to the lecture theatre, it became real to me that I was actually back. There were no familiar faces, everyone was standing outside the theatre by themselves, not speaking. It felt so awkward that I wanted to turn invisible. But when the doors opened and everyone came together to form one giant mass, a ray of light shone down on me and I saw the face of an old friend. I immediately went over to her and she seemed as happy to see me as I was to see her. We sat together and caught up with each other, since it had been almost a year since we had last spoke.

The lecture was pretty boring; it was all introductory stuff. I'm in my second official semester but this is actually my third semester of studying at University, so everything they covered was nothing new to me. But that was okay, I spent the time making my notes extra cute.

After the lecture, I made my way to the middle of the campus to meet up with my friend Jen, who messaged me the night before asking if I wanted to hang out. I had a few things to do, but she said she didn't mind tagging along. Once we found each other, we went to the bookstore so I could buy everything on my booklist that I would need this semester.

Two hundred dollars and a lot of tears later, we were on our way to Cockburn (it's pronounced like Co-Burn ; yes, I know). I had arranged to view a house to rent that day, but google maps took us on a weird route where we ended up needing to get on a bus that wasn't running that day. Good one, google maps.

There was no way to get there except that bus and I had no friends that were free to give me a lift. I texted the owner of the house that I wasn't able to make it and we started to head back to the train station. However, as we were almost there, the guy texted me back, offering to pick us up.
I hesitated. Every bone in my body was telling me I needed to be careful about this, but this was one of the reasons I had decided to bring Jen with me. I figured that the plan was to go to this guys house anyway, so in comparison, getting in his car wasn't really that much of a big deal. The guy picked us up and we both sat in the back seat, super aware of our surroundings. I even texted my boyfriend what was going on, where he picked us up and the address that we were going to.

We made it to the house safely and went inside. On the way, the guy had told us about how he expects everyone in the house to do their part of the cleaning and how many people were living there. I met the housemates, who all seemed pretty cool. The thing was, for someone who claimed to feel so strongly about cleaning, the house was a mess. The floor was super dirty and cluttered with so much junk. Not rubbish, per say, but just random things piled up everywhere.
We went into what was supposed to be 'my' room and oh my god, it was like a scene from a horror movie: There were stains on the floor that looked weirdly like blood that I'm hoping was ketchup, shoe marks on the wall at near the end of the bed and next to the bed, the wallpaper had been clawed. It was unbelievable. Jen and I shared a look and I knew it was time to leave.
He dropped us off at the train station and I said I'd get back to him after I've looked around at a few more houses. After watching him drive away, I blocked his number and email address and we got on a train to the city.

When we arrived, we were shocked to discover it was only 1 in the afternoon. It had seemed like such a long day already, and it was only halfway through - I guess this is the benefit of getting up early. But that was okay, more time for shopping!

We went into Jay Jays first, the jeans I have now have turned completely grey so I figured it was time to finally bite the bullet and get a new pair. It was a little depressing though; I guess I've grown more than I thought I had. I swear I'm a size eight (Australian sizing), but I tried on sizes both eight and nine and although they fitted my legs and butt really well, my hips were way too wide. To be fair, it's been four years since I last had to buy a pair of jeans, so it makes sense that my hips have widened since then. I ended up having to buy a size eleven. They're not as skinny on my legs and a little baggy on my butt, but at least they fit my giant birthing hips~

After a bit of an existential crisis and coming to terms with my growth, we had a bit of a wander. I feel like I click really well with Jen; although we weren't always talking, we were pretty comfortable just walking around together and making the occasional comment on something we noticed. The only thing we really made a big deal about was when we saw two girls steal a shirt and a pair of pants from another clothing store we were in. It was unbelievable; they didn't even try to hide it. They literally just grabbed the clothes off the display table, folded them, put them in their bags and left. It was right in front us, too. Well, right in front of Jen. I was too busy eyeing off a cute cat shirt, which I ended up buying after we told the manager what had happened. I did see it happen out of the corner of my eye, but I didn't connect the dots because I assumed if they were stealing something, they'd look at least a bit guilty. I guess that's how these things happen, though.
(new jeans and shirt + $200 worth of books)
(for some reason all the black in the selfie turned green when I uploaded it??)

After a bit more window shopping and thankfully, no more thefts (that we saw, anyway), we decided it was time to go home; there was nothing else that we really wanted to get done and I had an arrangement with my partner to get Pasta Cup for dinner.
I read some of my new books on the train home, and my boyfriend picked me up from the station, but it was only quarter to four and I hadn't had lunch, so he bought me a happy meal and a few hours later, we had pasta cup for dinner, as promised.

Once we got back to my house, we both went on tumblr for a while and somehow we got onto the subject of Bridge to Terabithia and how it's apparently shocking that I hadn't seen it? So long story short, I stayed the night at his house and watched it. To be honest, it was a bit lame, but it still somehow managed to kick me in the heart gut.

All in all, today was super busy, but probably one of the most productive and satisfying days I've had in a while. Even though I only spent about an hour the campus, it was a really nice way to kick off the semester and I hope see Pasta Cup Jen again soon.

(the following days at Uni consisted of meeting all my new classmates for the first time and enjoying all the free stuff being handed out at the welcome festival such as unlimited fairy floss, slushies and popcorn - being an adult is great)
